Candy Bar Robbery Homocide "I guess he did some real street shit" SMH

Police were hunting last night for a man who shot dead a Bronx gas-station attendant in a botched robbery -- after the thug first grabbed a Snickers bar from the station's candy rack.
The hood walked into a Baychester Shell station at 11:45 p.m. Thursday, took the candy bar, pulled a gun and announced a robbery.
Confronted by two attendants, the hood fired several rounds, killing one and wounding the other, said Police Commissioner Ray Kelly.
No cash was taken, said cops -- and the gas station's cash register remained closed.
And the crook apparently left hungry; he dropped the unopened candy bar as he ran. Police said he might have fled in a white BMW.
Now the Snickers bar is in a police lab, being tested for fingerprints, DNA and other evidence, said sources.
Lamine Diop, 35, a father of two young children, was declared dead on arrival at Jacobi Hospital after being struck three times in the leg.
The other worker, Papa Ly, 37, was struck once in the torso and once in the left arm. He was in stable condition yesterday at Jacobi.

Diop lived with his wife, Layla, in an apartment in Mott Haven. His kids, ages 4 and 2, live with his mother in Senegal, said lifelong friend Elhadje Ndiaye.
Diop emigrated to the United States 13 years ago.
"We used to play soccer together as children. He came to New York first, and I followed him a few years later," said Ndiaye. "We spent almost every day of our lives together."
Diop always worked the night shift at the gas station on Bartow Avenue just off the New England Thruway. Ndiaye works there during the day.
A man who identified himself as Diop's cousin said the slain man didn't like the job would say, "I have no choice; I have bills to pay."
"I was very worried about him working the night shift," the cousin said. "I was always scared for him. But he wasn't scared."
Diop regularly sent money home to his mother in Senegal, the cousin said -- adding that the family hopes to return his body there for burial.
