Way too long underground

After more than two months trapped 2,000 feet below the earth, two Chilean miners were rescued late last night.

“The excitement! The joy!” Chilean President Sebastian Pinera posted on Twitter as Florencio Avalos, the first one up, was raised from the red, white, and blue rescue capsule after the 20-minute ride.

Avalos, 31, was greeted by a hugs and kisses from his family — with his 7-year-old son, Bairon, bursting into tears — as his dad breathed fresh air for the first time in 68 days.

His wife, two sons, father, Pinera and his wife, Cecilia Morel, were on hand.
